Date posted:2005-01-28 | Writer: Urumqi EF English First | Email: [email protected]

The Urumqi branch of English First was opened three years ago and has fast become one of the most progressive language training centers in the west of China. Situated in the very heart of Asia Urumqi is the perfect place to experience both teaching and living in the cultural melting pot of China's far west. We are looking for relaxed and enthusiastic language instructors to join our dynamic team of creatively minded individuals.

Due to an increase in demand, Urumqi English First has recently opened a second language centre in the city and as a result, positions have become available for applicants to become part of this expanding team. If you have prior teaching experience and qualifications in the ESL field and are interested in spending at least a year in this remote and colourful city then this is the place for you.

As a leading language centre, our courses range from young learner and adult education through to curriculums specifically designed to meet the needs of a rapidly developing nation. Emphasis is placed upon professional development and adequate resources are provided to facilitate preparation and effective lessons in an environment in which students are actively involved. A maximum of sixteen students per class allows for a high level of student interaction in a communicative and imaginative setting.

All positions offer competitive local salaries and include round trip flights, accommodation, health insurance, a generous bonus scheme and excellent career opportunities within EF's network of over two hundred language centers worldwide.

If you are interested or would like to know more please contact the E-mail addresses below including an up to date copy of your CV, along with copies of your certificates and qualifications.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Assessment and grading is probably the most sensitive class time for students. Even though some tests are designed merely to see what students' already knows, many students are desperate to get perfect score from every single test. Therefore, it is quite important to let students know the purpose of the test. Plus, It will be great if this unit includes how to control and design the level of each tests, such as questionnaire.I don't have much to say regarding this lesson. Very straight forward. Again, it's nice to have examples of potential activities one can use. I would had appreciated a section discussing cultural differences and how this can affect one's understanding of context and other meanings, as people taking the TEFL course have the end goal of teaching those from other cultures, possibly abroad within their future students' culture.
