Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Reading and listening are a vital component in teaching students of English. The unit covered how we read and listen and than went on to talk about problems with listening and reading. This included pre-teaching vocabulary and careful selection of texts. It also showed how a teacher can use both the straight arrow and patchwork ESA method. I walked away from this unit with a better idea on how teach students English.Reviewing this unit was very interesting: from eight groups of words, or parts of speech, the whole English language is formed. Some of these groups are easy to identify in a sentence, for example verbs and nouns, but other groups such as prepositions and adverbs are trickier to define. This is the reason why it’s important to go deeper into this subject: to master the language you must understand its mechanism.
