Positions: Shandong, China
Position available to teach English, develop core curriculum and help manage English schools in China for Chinese children ages 3 to 5. Company plans to raise schools in several locations in Shandong province - beginning in Jinan, the capital city. Classroom teaching required during initial development stages of school, but if desired, could possibly be reduced to less teaching and more management of other instructors and curriculum after school grows and you help to recruit more foreign teachers. Nice job for a creative person interested in hands-on involvement from the bottom up. Potential for great income if willing to stay with school as it develops.
- Work space provided in friendly office environment
- Internet and e-mail access provided
- Curriculum and class plans to be developed by you based on locally available materials
- Approximately 4 hours per day, 4 days per week of classroom instruction
- Translator and some classroom assistance available
- 4, 000 Yuan RMB monthly salary (a good income in Shandong province)
- Profit sharing negotiable as the school develops, depending on your level of involvement and length of stay
- Negotiable international airfare for trips home, depending on your level of involvement and length of stay
- Furnished apartment provided
- Company van and driver provided on occasion for some local travel
Requirements for qualified candidate:
- Must be native speaker of English
- Experience teaching or working with small children
- Experience teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language helpful
- Some experience in curriculum development would be a plus
- International or multicultural experience preferred
- Chinese language skills a plus, but a willingness to try to learn a little would be considered as acceptable for the right candidate
- Most importantly, though, you should be flexible, honest, creative, love children and understand how to capture their attention
