EF English First Xi’an has four centrally located schools and has a reputation as the best English Language Training company in the city. We hire TEFL qualified English teachers year round, and with over 50 foreign teachers employed across our four EF schools in Xi’an, there’s always someone on hand to offer some teaching advice and support, or to go and grab a bite to eat with. Our schools are modern, well equipped and progressive and classes are based on EF’s own syllabus and text books.

The majority of our classes are with young learners and in addition we have regular corporate, and both adult and young learner one-to-one courses. This variety of students gives our teachers a great opportunity to develop into well rounded, experienced professionals. We encourage all of our teachers to develop professionally either within our schools in Xi’an or within the worldwide EF group.

Xi’an is the home of the Terracotta Warriors and was the Capital of China for thirteen dynasties. It is located in the middle of the country, making it an excellent base from which to make the most of your paid vacation days!

For foreign teachers, Xi’an has the best of both worlds; it has the modern, cosmopolitan bustle of a major city and the charming, traditional, cultural side of more rural China. It’s the ideal choice if you want somewhere historic, steeped in culture and thoroughly Chinese, without having to forego easy travel, a convenient life and a home with comfortable living environment.

The cost of living here is significantly lower than other major Chinese cities, so your salary goes a long way and building up savings is easy to do.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In this unit, different types of tests are introduced and I personally find the progress tests and diagnostic tests are the most valuable to use in a course system. It's easy for the teachers to teach and just follow the textbooks but forget to ask the instant feedback from students. Sometimes, saving time or sparing time to talk to students and test students will make them more motivated to learn. This chapter dealth with how to teach the receptive skills. From my own experience these skills are not too difficult to teach to a student however, comprehension does pose a big problem especially to younger students. Comprehension can be laid out simply and the simplest change in language can throw them off. I was glad for the exercises since it gave me some ideas on what I could use in my class.
