Course books are a very emotive issue for many teachers. Some teachers swear by them, while other teachers despise them. Almost every published course book has its fans. The choice of whether or not to use a course book and if so which one, can be a complex issue. Common created materials include crosswords, word search puzzles, role play cards, flash cards, gap fill activities, picture stories. In this unit, we learned about a number of resources that are available for use in classroom—both typical equipment as well as online and other resources. Some of this information can, unfortunately, come off as quite dated—especially the information on cassette recorders, a kind of technology that no one I know uses any more since the advent of digital audio recorders and smartphones.
