Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit covered professional development. It went over cultural issues to be aware of when teaching internationally, ways of seeking, applying for and keeping employment, exams to take, associations to join and included a webliography of career contacts. With the many resources presented in this lesson I will definitely use it for reference in the future, for instance the 50 typical questions to ask a potential employer. This unit described the advantages and disadvantages of coursebooks and teacher-prepared materials. Every teacher must find the appropriate combination of authentic materials and created materials for his students. While authentic materials, such as magazines, brochures, songs, videos, and menus, are realistic and confidence-building, they may not be level appropriate, and therefore may need to be adapted for the students.
