Energetic Teacher Wanted to Teach EFL in China

Date posted:2006-12-13 | Writer: Aston English | Email: [email protected]

We are looking for teachers around China for the Spring terms starting in March. Contracts run from 6 months to a year or longer on request. The position is teaching, though we're also recruiting for management openings for the right candidates.

We also have some immediate openings in various cities.

Most vacancies are for the teaching of young children. Some adult classes exist as well as classes for IELTS & Toefl. However, we're mostly looking for enthusiastic, fun-loving teachers who have patience and the ability to interact one-on-one with, as well as within a group of children. Hours range between 15-25/week depending on the school and contract. End of contract bonuses are available depending on the length of the contract.

For teachers: You should have some teaching experience, preferably one year or more. You should also have an educational certificate, like TEFL, CELTA, TESOL or equivalent (with classroom experience). You MUST be a native English speaker, i.e. from the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa. Ethnicity doesn't matter. And you must have at least a bachelors degree. Please send your documents, as well as a copy of your passport to [email protected].

For management positions: All above requirements apply. You should also have at least 3 years experience in a private English school, as well as a previous background in Management in a related industry. Again, send ALL credentials, as well as letters of reference to [email protected].

Please email us your preferences and we'll help you out as best we can. Many of our locations are in northern China but a few exist in the south & west. We will try our best to accomodate you with the most ideal position for you.

When Emailing us, please mention where you saw our ad. Good luck and we look forward to hearing from you!

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

I found the listings of different types of dictionaries and online resources to be enormously helpful. While these can be found online with a search, it is very helpful to have a list of resources that have been previously \"vetted\" and recommended for use. I would have liked to have seen some discussion about using a DVD with a personal computer and ways to project it onto a larger screen in a classroom setting.I actually learned a few things from this unit. Although I intuitively understood pros and cons of various classroom configurations, I wasn't knowledgeable of all the specifics. Also, while I personally would consider factors like student nationality as relevant, I've seen such categorization frowned upon in some educational circles. Overall, this unit will be a good reference for me in future classroom planning.
