Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Sentence stress refers to the emphasis placed on certain words within a sentence. This varying emphasis gives English an accent, resulting in a natural song like quality when spoken fluently. Sentence stress is generally determined by whether a word is considered a “content word” or a “function word,” and the vocal space between stressed words creates the rhythm of a sentence. For a person that never design a syllabus or test, this unit was very helpful in creating a well lay out on how test and syllabus should be design. The most difficult part of this unit was the syllabus and its outline. A lot of the design I didn't understand well, but when I looked at some example website that was giving, it kind of help a little, I would like more explanation on syllabus design.
