Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Unit 9 covered the ins, outs, ups, and downs of coursebooks and various lesson materials. Coursebooks provide excellent structure and are generally a good resource for teachers. However, they can be boring, repetitive, and outdated and should be supplemented. Teachers do not always get to choose the coursebooks they use and should always be flexible and creative to keep students engaged and learning. This unit covered an array of issues that may arise in the classroom and detailed different approaches to dealing with them. I was very thankful for this section, as it more or less covered explicitly troubles I was afraid would happen. The lesson was very straightforward in presenting the potential problem and providing multiple ways to deal with it. I will most certainly be utilizing these methods.
