Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
This unit has laid out the rules to tenses in a concise manner that will allow me to teach it well in future. I learned to put a name to the tenses that I knew, but maybe couldn't identify in the past. The examples used in the lesson were effective and clearly distinguished the rules and potential places where mistakes are commonly made, and this will allow me to be a better teacher and communicator moving forward.Receptive skills should never be overlooked. Not everything which can be taught are overt actions. A lot of learning depend upon listening and reading. I believe emphasis could be given more on these skills as, personally, I believe, in this day and age of fast-paced tech-driven lifestyle we live, we even read our tablets/mobile phones or listening to our mobile/music while walking, learning almost 'by osmosis'.
