Date posted:2013-08-22 | Writer: Cambodia Academy at Mongkol Borei | Email: [email protected]

The Cambodia Academy at Mongkol Borei is currently searching for a full-time EFL teacher for the 2013-2014 academic school year. The Cambodia Academy at Mongkol Borei provides an elementary / secondary education to 325 Cambodian children in grades 1 through 9. The goal of our English program is to teach basic English to grades 1-9, working toward a solid understanding and command of conversational English by the time of graduation. Ideally our graduates will then go on to secure jobs in the tourism industry, thereby breaking the cycle of poverty into which they were born. The school is located near Mongkol Borei, in rural Cambodia, roughly 60 miles outside of the tourist town of Siem Reap (and the neighboring Angkor Wat ruins).

The 2013-2014 academic school year runs October 1, 2013 - July 31, 2014. For qualified candidates that commit to teaching for the full academic school year, we can offer free air fare, $300/month stipend and free housing. We also welcome volunteers interested in coming for shorter time periods.

Ideal candidate will have:

Strong command of the English language, with TEFL qualification or equivalent.

Bachelor's degree

Experience and a desire to teach children

Interested candidates should contact Hans Eide at the email address given on the job heading to discuss this opportunity.
