What is the CELTA program?

The CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program is an internationally recognized qualification for teaching English as a foreign language. It is awarded by Cambridge English Language Assessment, part of the University of Cambridge. The program is designed for individuals with little or no previous teaching experience and provides a solid foundation in teaching methodology, language analysis, and practical teaching experience.

Tips for implementing conversation skills in the classroom

1. Create a speaking-friendly classroom environment by setting up pair or group work activities that encourage students to interact with each other.

2. Use authentic materials, such as newspaper articles, videos, and songs, to provide students with real-life language input for conversation practice.

3. Incorporate role-plays and simulations to give students the opportunity to practice speaking in different contexts.

4. Encourage students to participate in discussions on a variety of topics to help them develop fluency and confidence in expressing their ideas.
