What are the requirements for the TFETP program?

To be eligible for the Taiwan Foreign English Teacher Program (TFETP), candidates must primarily be native English speakers hailing from an English-speaking country. Additionally, they should possess a state-recognized teaching license from their home country. It is imperative to have a Bachelor's degree or higher, with the majority of it not completed through distance learning. A clean criminal background check from the applicant's country of origin and an internationally accredited TEFL or TESOL certificate further cement eligibility.

How do I apply for the TFETP?

Applications for the TFETP must be submitted online prior to the deadline of April 30. If you meet the prerequisites, you will be invited for an online interview. Successful candidates will be notified before June. Upon acceptance into the program, you must then apply for a work permit, and once obtained, apply for your Resident Visa. Your arrival in Taiwan is expected around mid-August, for orientation and contract signing. The contract spans one academic year until July of the subsequent year, with the possibility of renewal if the school chooses to retain you.
