It talks about an action that started in the past and is continuing now. The second usage is to describe recently finished activities that have present results. For example, "He is tired because he has been chopping trees." It is talking about an action that was continuing until very recently. The Present Perfect Continuous emphasizes the action or the activity not the result or the completed action. I learned more about the usages for the different types of past tense in the unit. As a native speaker I can use them all correctly, but I was not really aware of when to use then since I use them without thinking. I think this unit was helpful because I have a good understanding of the past tense and also I have new ideas of how to use activities to teach and reinforce the material.This final unit is on so-called troubleshooting. It deals with the most commonly encountered problem situations. Much like in the penultimate unit, based on my own teaching experience I can second every motion herein and appreciate the logically and well structured inventory of situations that may arise in a teacher's life.
