English Grammar - Past Simple - Teaching Ideas 3 - TEFL Courses

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

I learned about the receptive skills listening and reading. I learned that you have to give the students a variety of topicsto keep all of the students interested in learning English. Now I understand that you should pre-teach more difficult vocabulary words before diving into the lesson. As teachers we need to switch up the lesson types to keep the interested and motivated to learn. This unit introduces us to equipment and teaching aids that are used to teach English as a second language. It gives many examples such as white and black boards, visual aids, videos from YouTube or DVD's, CD players, and many others. It goes over the pros and cons of using each, and also provides a wealth of information and links for learning English as well as for teaching English.
