Online vs. On-Site TEFL Courses - TEFL Blog
Elizaveta Pachina
Alumni Experiences
The content of online courses and onsite courses is similar. As for the effect of learning, it varies from person to person. Some students like online courses. Because online courses do not need to go to the site to attend classes, they can go to class directly at home, which is convenient and time-consuming. It is more flexible, you can choose the time of the lecture, and you can listen to it repeatedly during the validity period. In particular, most of the users of our drop-out network are in-service personnel, and they can use the time to watch the video to learn. Face-to-face courses are convenient, some students prefer onsite courses because the courses are more direct, and they can communicate directly with teachers on the spot. Any... [Read more]

My friends and I live in a predominantly Indian neighborhood in a suburban Midwest town in the United States. Most of our neighbors are Indian nationals who are in the US temporarily on corporate-sponsored work visas, families where one or both parents work outside the home during the day while their children attend local American public schools. One of my friends, a high school math teacher, was asked by her neighbor to tutor two elementary school-aged children in English, her son in first grade, and her daughter in third grade.

When I first signed up to take the TEFL I thought it was going to be about very common words and phrases we use in the English language every day but it taught me so much more than I ever thought. I learned so much about what's the best way to deal with misbehaving students, how to teach past tenses, and so much more. When I first thought about getting my TEFL and to hopefully one day be in a classroom of my own teaching English to students, I never thought about everything that comes with the title of being a teacher.

8 Classroom Activities that are Great for Kinesthetic Learners - TEFL Blog
Mark Crocker
Alumni Experiences Teaching Ideas
Kinesthetic learners are learners that learn through objects that they can touch and explore. They also learn best by discovering and experiencing and particularly enjoy physical activities that involve getting out of their seat and moving around. Unlike visual and auditory learners, kinesthetic learners can be tough to accommodate in the classroom because of their need to be physically active. Since they need to be active in their learning, they may get bored very quickly if you allow them to simply listen and look at your visual aids or video presentation. As teachers, we must always be versatile and understand how to incorporate different types of learners. Luckily, there are many fun ways for kinesthetic learners to learn.
