Troubleshooting TEFL: How to Overcome Funding-Based Difficulties

That is to say, the school the teacher is teaching at may not have the resources or the care to fully fund or supply the teacher with the necessary tools to instruct students. This can be a huge problem, as if the teacher starts from a disadvantaged position, they may feel like there is little hope for them to equip students for English learning.

Should we teach culture in the EFL classroom?
Put simply, language is a verbal expression of culture which means that culture clearly has to be seen as an important part of language learning. Although it is important to learn the vocabulary and grammar of English during lessons, to truly grasp what the language means to native speakers it is vital that EFL students learn as much as possible about the culture of English speaking nations. The good news is that students generally love learning about cultural issues, whether it is music, films, books, and TV, or other things such as food or fashion. So, how can we incorporate culture into our EFL lessons to make them interesting and productive?

English Grammar -- Present Perfect -- Structure -- TESOL
This video is the first of two that looks at the structure of the Present Perfect tense.
Positive: subject +auxiliary verb have/has + past participle

Negative: subject + auxiliary verb have/has + not + past participle
I have not played. / She has not played.
Question: auxiliary verb have/has + subject + past participle
Have I played? / Has she played?
This verb tense requires the use of the past participle. With regular verbs the past participle is the verb plus ed, for example work - worked. However there are many irregular verbs that do not follow this pattern and have to be learnt from memory. For example, eat- eaten, drink-drunk, teach-taught. English Grammar - Past Continuous - Teaching Ideas - TESOL
In this video we look at a TESOL teaching idea for the past continuous tense. For this activity students are put into groups and are handed pictures of people doing different activities. The pictures are placed upside down in a pile and the students take it in turns to turn them over. When they have turned over a card they must make a past continuous sentence based on the picture they have. For example: If they turn over a picture of a woman swimming they would say: She was swimming yesterday.
For more advanced students this activity can be used to compare past continuous and past simple. For example: While I was doing the washing up, I broke three plates.
