Teach to Travel have expanded their Turkey program to include positions all over Turkey. We have over 40 TEFL Positions starting as soon as late September 2013. Jobs in Kayseri, Istanbul and Izmir are all available! The positions are based in private schools and are great for experiencing cosmopolitan Turkish culture whilst teaching in a sophisticated working environment. 90% of the positions include accommodation and flight reimbursement!

Requirements:

The teachers must have the following:

1) A teaching qualification, such as TEFL/TESOL/CELTA

2) Experience of 1 year is preferred, but not necessary

3) A university degree

4) Native level English

In my previous teaching experience to international students from around the world, I would break down my lessons based on one of the four basic skills. Seeing how I could have better gone about teaching those students was very interesting. This unit went over the two receptive skills - listening and reading. The key to improving these skills is having content that is interesting to the students.In this unit I have learnt about the different types of teachers and teaching styles, and the different levels of learners and how to assess the English skill level that they are at. It is important to be be an active and passive teacher in the classroom, assessing the class regularly to know when to have more involvement or when to step back and let the learners figure things out for themselves.
