Date posted:2012-11-26 | Writer: Shane English Schools | Email: [email protected]

Taiwan is a fast moving Asian country with many teaching possibilities opening throughout 2013. We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated TEFL qualified teachers who are able to teach students of all ages – from 3 years old to adult. As a tropical island Taiwan boasts diverse landscapes and excitement for all who have the fortune to live and work there.

THE SCHOOLS

‘In Region Schools’ in and around Taipei offer the Asian experience with the additional comfort of other foreigners and western style supermarkets, restaurants and bars. There are a lot of experienced teachers in Taipei; therefore new teachers have plenty of support both socially and academically.

‘Out Region Schools’ are spread throughout the island and generally have fewer teachers than the Taipei schools. The majority are over an hour South of Taipei by train, bus or plane. The rural locations provide excellent opportunities for teachers to immerse themselves in Taiwan’s culture and language.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit introduces different types of classes and each type's quality. Some don'ts in class we need to bear in mind. And how to teach business English with many details. No matter which types of classes we teach,we should figure out what interests our students and what's their need for learning English. All the teachers need to do is preparing suitable lessons to help students to achieve their goals. In lesson nine, I learned the key reasons that text books can provide an advantage and a disadvantage in the classroom. I learned that when used correctly and supplemented with appropriate created and authentic materials, textbooks can provide students with a comfort zone, as well as a method to keep track of their progress. I also learned several different ways to supplement the course material.
