This is yet another helpful lesson. I appreciated the many samples of materials that were included, and the honesty about the pros and cons of using already established textbooks. Honestly, I hate how much textbooks cost when our students are already paying so much for their education, so I tend to use open source information, but I still do use smaller, less expensive textbooks as well. This unit taught me the equal importance of reading and listening. They are the receptive skills . I have learnt te different reasons for reading and listening-whether it is for purpose or for entertaintment. How complex this is and as everybody has got pre -existing knowledge we might make different conclusions-It is very important to bear this in mind while teaching receptive skills.
