Dragon English School International is recruiting two new EFL teachers for its Taibao location in Chiayi county Taiwan. These positions will be starting near the beginning of 2012. Both positions will be full time in our newest Taiwan location (couples are welcome). Taibao is the newest city in Taiwan. It is a small, modern city which has the HSR station for Chiayi county, and one of the largest hospitals in Asia! It is very close to the Taiwan straight, and 20 minutes (scooter ride) from some of the most beautiful mountains in Taiwan. Because of the new HSR, traveling to any part of Taiwan is very fast and easy. It is a great city to; live the quiet life, get acquainted with the local culture and customs, experience all the great cities and what they have to offer on the weekends, or hike, camp, and explore the natural beauty that is Taiwan!
The positions will entail teaching between the hours of 2pm to 9pm (teachers are only required to be at school for their classes, approximately 80 hours per month, there are almost no office hours!). Teachers will teach beginning levels of English through to higher levels including GEPT (General English Proficiency Test) material, in students ranging in age from 5 years to 17 years of age. There is the possibility of adult students as well! The Taibao Dragon school, is a small start up school privately owned and operated by foreigners.
Requirements include; being a native speaker, having a 4 year University degree (in any discipline), a willingness to learn and embrace a new culture and environment, a 1 year commitment (although longer is preferred), and an outgoing team-oriented personality. An English teaching certificate, such as TEFL or TESOL, is looked upon very favorably. Pay will increase with experience and qualifications, but our minimum hourly pay is 18$ USD per hour.
