English Courses Manager: Elena Shchur

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit focused on present tenses: present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. I think this section of grammar is often brief in nature, if not skipped altogether. Some tenses are used more often than others so having this reminder on the rules and common mistakes was helpful. This is not my strongest area when it comes to the English language so I believe I'll do another overview. The tips and advice given for teaching a class with different levels is very beneficial, because I have been in many classrooms where this is a problem and it seems that most teachers rarely know what to do with it. I like the idea of using the same materials for everyone in the class but assigning them different tasks, because it can be tailored more towards the students but doesn’t add much more work for the teacher.
