Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In this unit I learned about lesson planning and the different parts that should be incorporated into a lesson plan. These parts are the procedure, phase, timing, interaction, learner objectives, language points, teaching aids, personal aims, and anticipated problems and solutions. Lesson plans should be simple and work as a record that can be referred to or a document for others to follow. This unit discussed the Engage-Study-Activate (ESA) approach to teaching a new language. The discussion focused on the language aspects of vocabulary, grammar, and functions. For each aspect and ESA component the discussion presented suggestions for teaching techniques and example lesson plans. The example lessons plans were quite helpful for understanding the suggested teaching techniques.
