Job Teaching TEFL in New Zealand

This unit really gets me excited about working on course plans. The development of materials, finding creative ways to use existing materials, and supplementing the syllabus in ways that interest students is what excites me most about the classroom. With technology, it is much easier to identify and develop materials specifically targeting student interests and to build upon language points in creative ways.This section really drilled the importance of not \"cheating\" by using the mother language of your students. Naturally, I think it would be better to provide a direct translation of the language, however, I see the thought process behind avoiding the use of a student's mother tongue. If students are to begin thinking in English, avoiding their mother tongue and using English as much as possible is necessary.
