  • Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In this unit, I learned how the teacher’s actions, mannerisms, and lesson conduct can affect a student’s learning experience. I also learned about how to create a welcoming and efficient learning atmosphere. I found the information regarding the balancing of teacher talk time and student talk time especially important, as I have found that my richest learning experiences occurred in environments with such a balance. In Unit 4, I feel that I have had a good review of the present tenses. I use these tenses all the time when I talk and now feel more comfortable explaining to students the rules of these tenses. I liked the ways of explaining the form and usages of each tense, breaking them down with examples where students might make errors. I thought the video was helpful by giving lesson ideas for teaching these tenses in the classroom.
