JCS is a non-profit organization. It was founded by Christians but it is open to different denominations; respecting the differences in beliefs that may arise from them. It is a community-based private bilingual school with approximately 250 students. The school is located up in the mountains in a beautiful, peaceful, and slow-paced town called Jarabacoa. It is located an hour's drive from Santiago, a two-hour drive from Puerto Plata, and from Santo Domingo (the capital city of the Dominican Republic). The nearest airport to Jarabacoa is Aeropuerto Internacional del Cibao (code STI), found in Santiago.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Full-time teacher (7:30 am - 4:00 pm) compensation:
• RD$22,000.00 pesos per month + RD$3,000.00 pesos in housing stipend.
• RD$300.00 pesos /hr (should teacher decide to tutor after school)
• US$100.00 country exit fee coverage at the end of the contract.
** DR does NOT require a work visa nor residency to live or work in the country.
• Christmas Bonus: based on salary
• Six PTO (paid time off) days + Holidays
Note: Our compensation package makes for a comfortable living in Jarabacoa, DR.
• A salary raise will apply to teachers renewing their contracts.
BENEFITS PACKAGE
• Medical Insurance Plan (policy is paid by JCS). Plan coverage is available upon request.
• Housing: If you are willing to share a school-provided furnished house, you will pay RD$4,000.00 pesos.
Should you prefer to live alone, the school can assist in helping you find housing.
