We are looking for three TEFL teachers, short term (3 months) and long term (6 months) positions for our academic year, and a Senior teacher.
Full induction, support and ongoing training given.
For teaching job: 30 hours weekly Monday - Friday/start date May 2nd, 2022.
For teaching job: On your application state if you are applying for 3/6 months position.
Details of Position
Galapagos Language Academy is located in Puerto Ayora, the town with the largest population of all the Galapagos Islands with over 15,000 residents scattered in small villages across the island. It is also home to the largest port and offers the greatest variety of accommodations, restaurants, recreation and activities. The school provides a very open, personable and enjoyable atmosphere, we teach English to people of the community from 2010 and we have students of all different ages from 3 years old to adult. We also teach other languages like Spanish, German and French.
Qualifications
Teachers:
A recognized certificate in TEFL /CELTA or equivalent
Your spoken English must be of native level standard
Young learner teaching experience
Class management skills (very important)
Minimum 1 year of experience teaching english.
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Enthusiastic and flexible
Reliable
Experience living in similar locations will be highly valued.
We also need one German and one French teacher, if you are able to teach any of these languages, let us know.
Senior teacher:
Min. BA degree or equivalent plus DELTA / Trinity Diploma qualified (or intending to complete it within the first Academic Year)
At least 3 years EFL teaching experience
Experience of materials design (desirable)
Solid teaching experience
Previous teacher training and management experience
Native English speaker or non-native with fluent English and a clear accent
Spanish language speaker with a B1-B2 level.
Experience living and working in similar locations will be highly valued.
Salary and Benefits
Teachers benefits:
$780 USD monthly.

Free accommodation: Small individual studio apartment located in the Academy (on site).
We sponsor work permit in the Galapagos islands.
1 week paid holiday in September and 1 week in December.
Start date: May 2nd, 2022.
Senior teacher benefits:
two years contract
1200 USD p/m, plus two paid weeks holidays.
We sponsor and pay legal residency in the Galapagos Islands and Ecuadorian work visa. (The fee for the Ecuadorian work visa is reimbursed after finishing the contract)
One week paid holiday in September and one week in December.
Start date April 15th, 2022.
