Full-time native level English teacher required for private language school in Reggio Calabria, Southern Italy starting in January 2021.
Details of Position
We are looking for an enthusiastic TEFL teacher to join our team as soon as possible. This teacher would focus on pre-school and Young Learners, with the opportunity to teach some exam classes in preparation for Cambridge exams (March or June 2021) and adult individual lessons.
The levels currently taught at the school are Pre-School, Young Learners (Starters, Movers, Flyers), KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE and IELTS. We teach a range of age groups, mostly aged between 4-18, with some adult classes.
The successful applicant will be teaching small class sizes (max. 12 students) with some one-to-one lessons.
The contract will last until mid-June 2021 with an opportunity to be renewed for the next school year.
The contract is for 28 hours a week. However if these hours are not available your wages will remain the same. You will be paid extra for any hours in excess of 28.
Duties include preparing and delivering engaging lessons for students of all ages, from pre-school and young learners to adults, typically for Cambridge exams, maintaining student records and attending fortnightly meetings to address any arising issues. It should also be noted that applicants should have a desire to work with very young learners. If you have any relevant experience with pre-school children, this would be ideal.
The school requires a native level English speaker. The school will provide you with any assistance necessary regarding visas post-Brexit.
The school will be observing all social distancing measures as dictated by the Italian government from September 2020 onwards, and the candidate must comply with these to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff and contain the spread of COVID-19.
In the event of a lockdown, the candidate will be required to teach classes online using Skype or Zoom, in order not to interrupt the students' education.
Qualifications
We require applicants to have a TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certificate and be willing to bring enthusiasm and motivation into the classroom.
Experience is not a requirement but would be beneficial to your application.
Salary and Benefits
850 euros per month during the probationary period, after which pay increases to 1000 euros per month (all taxes are paid by the school).
We will assist you in finding reasonably priced accommodation in the city centre, within walking distance of the school.
Wages are paid on the 15th of every month and as previously stated will remain at 1000 euros even if 28 hours are not available.
