Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit contained much that was common sense regarding the ways in which students interact with each other and the figure of authority in the class. I have already used these kinds of seating arrangements and eye contact, use of language etc. and it comes quite naturally in a classroom environment. Keeping your cool and remaining kind and yet authorative; interesting and interested is the main goal for a competent teacher. In Unit 6, I learned that smiling and remembering names of the students is crucial to an overall positive and productive class atmosphere. Speaking slowly and clearly for students at a lower level of English is also very necessary, and writing on the board is just as important. Keeping the students visually engaged is not only entertaining for the classroom, but also increases learning ability and memorization of vocabulary.
