Is TEFL valid for life?

In most cases, TEFL certification is valid for life. Once you successfully complete a TEFL course, your certificate does not usually have an expiration date, and you can continue using it when applying for English teaching positions abroad or online. This makes TEFL a long-term qualification for people who want to teach English as a foreign language at different stages of their career. That said, while the certificate itself may not expire, employer expectations can vary. Some schools, language centers, or online teaching companies may prefer candidates who completed their TEFL training recently, especially if teaching methods, technology, or classroom expectations have changed since you first qualified. If your TEFL certificate is several years old and you have not been teaching, taking a refresher course or adding a specialized certification, such as teaching young learners or teaching business English, can strengthen your resume. ITTT TEFL and TESOL certificates are designed to provide practical training for teaching English to non-native speakers, and they can be used for a wide range of teaching opportunities. While TEFL is generally a lifetime qualification, continuing to build your skills through experience and professional development is always a good idea if you want to stay competitive in the job market.
