How long are TEFL contracts?

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

This unit was a great refresher of ESA- Engage, Study, Activate. It helped a lot with introducing new language structures, introducing vocabulary, and grammar. It is important to pick proper vocabulary words for the students to not discourage learning. It is important to show students the meanings, usage and spelling of words. The ESA method is a great framework for this task. What I have learned in unit 5 is that for lesson planning you need to be flexible. It's okay to write down notes and short phrases of what you want to teach. But you should not have an entire script of your lesson, because that will leave no room for flexibility. If you can't change the lesson in order to make it work for your students you will not be successful in the classroom.
