In this unit I learned about the considerations necessary in deciding when and how to teach new language. Although lesson plans are typically provided, a good teacher should know how to improvise to fit their students' needs. I learned about several different activities for each ESA phase to develop lessons that would introduce students to new vocabulary, grammar, and functions.In the first lesson the teacher did not give the students examples and was frustrated by the student?s lack of understanding. He did not answer questions and did not have much structure in his teaching style. The second lesson the teacher was clearly more structured and well prepared for the class. He learned the student?s names, give examples and utilized ESA plan.
