Graduate English Teaching Certificate
Do you want to issue certificates to your students?
Over the years, ITTT has focused on providing quality training to future TEFL and TESOL teachers, preparing them to teach English as a foreign language. We have been asked by a number of course graduates if, as qualified ITTT teachers, they can award certificates independently to the students they teach.
ITTT has addressed this by providing certificates that graduates can issue to their students. These certificates, which can be purchased in packs of 10, 25, 50 or 100, allow the teacher to fill in the student’s name, class level and the number of hours of study, and are signed by the graduate. Each certificate is uniquely numbered, with a place on the certificate to enter the teacher’s ITTT... [Read more]

Is a TEFL Certificate Necessary for Online Teaching?
There is one question that often arises: is acquiring a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate necessary for online teaching. In this text, I argue that while a TEFL certificate is not mandatory for all online teachers, it is highly recommended for inexperienced teachers and amateurs who wish to embark on an online teaching career. The certificate provides essential pedagogical knowledge and boosts credibility, making it particularly beneficial for those lacking prior teaching experience or a pedagogical background. Now let's go through the most important aspects of acquiring a TEFL certificate and decide whether each teacher needs... [Read more]

Teaching One-to-One vs. Teaching in Class
The bulk part of the teacher's work is to adjust the learning material to the needs, goals, and interests of students. Even though some groups' needs may coincide with each other, the group's dynamic is something truly individual in manner. The same goes for one to one students. From this perspective, it becomes evident that the difference between teaching one to one and groups has many layers to it. The number and nature of activities the teacher prepares for the class is different; so is the style of communication.

How Teaching Privately Differs from Teaching a Whole Class?
In recent years, more and more English learners demand one-to-one lessons. Students feel that the course can be more specifically geared towards their own needs and wants than a group course could. Individual lessons have no mixed level, teachers could highly motivate the students, the requirements can be clearly defined. And teachers are easier and faster to get close to the students.

How Taking a TEFL Certification Course Has Improved My Online English Teaching
When I was young, I dreamt about thousands of different jobs, but being an online English teacher was never one of them. However, I've had the opportunity to work with Chinese students ranging from 5 to 13 years old and it has been one of the best experiences of my life so far. How am I going to communicate with them? Am I ready to be a teacher? How will I transmit what I want to teach? These are some of the questions that went through my mind before accepting the job, but when I finally decided to take it and started to be an ESL teacher I knew I was doing what I love the most, transmitting knowledge.

Teaching a Large Class: My Challenging Experience
Back in 2014, I worked at a nursery school here in South Africa. I was the English teacher for the three to four-year-olds at this school. There were 32 students in my class. My class was so small that during nap time two students had to sleep on one mattress. There was no space to leave the class once the children had fallen asleep. I had to make sure that all my belongings were out of the class once the students came in for their naptime or I had to leave whatever was forgotten behind once I was one my way to my next job. In unit 3 on page 21, they talk about the whole class grouping pros and cons and that is really explained well where they say "class grouping is suitable for... [Read more]

Should a TEFL Certification be Mandatory for Teachers?
The importance of a course such as a TEFL is easy to overlook when you consider the multitude of teaching jobs that are available around the globe that require no teacher training whatsoever. In many countries, the only requirements are that you have some form of degree and are a native speaker. For those looking to travel whilst earning some money, these countries can provide a good balance of income and culture, as well as easy access to other countries in the area. However, whilst this is beneficial to the 'tourist teacher', it can often lead to substandard teaching methods. For an example of this, I need not look any further than myself.

The best thing I've learned from this course begins with the EFL teacher as an instrument of facilitation. The creative spark that ignites a flame in every student that is trying to master a new language. A teacher doesn't need to be perfect but must be fully present and prepared with a positive, supportive vibe. The successful teacher is a role model, a subject matter expert, and a skilled conductor of English language learning and immersion. Course books aside, from the very first lesson, a teacher identifies the level of learners and builds rapport with students through engaging activities that aim to reveal the students' needs and interests. These interests can then... [Read more]

There are three main factors that we will cover:
Teaching English online may be done from anywhere in the world where a good stable internet connection is available. Teaching EFL in-class is also available worldwide in English speaking and non-English speaking countries.
