What is Important for Early Career Teachers?
I have been teaching for almost 5 years now. My teaching career, I should say is at the beginner level. But I rather call it the aspirational level. At this level, I am in the stage of acquiring different qualifications to have more advantages and gain a wider scope in teaching. But as I seek more qualifications, I slowly understand what is important for early-career teachers like me.

Moving Forward: My Personal Teaching Experience, Changing Careers
I've always wanted to be a teacher. In high school, I was inspired by my English teachers and the way they were able to make material interesting and motivating. I remember telling myself that I would not be the person who changes the world, but perhaps as a teacher, I would be able to inspire the person who would. From the beginning, my motivation was to help others in a meaningful way. My goal was to improve the lives of others. When I entered university, I found myself studying philosophy to become a professor in the future. However, the reality of being a university professor was a lot of presenting and publishing, with very little teaching. Because teaching... [Read more]

Should Teachers Develop Their Careers?
Career development is a process of improving one's self-based on their chosen career path. This is a lifelong process. There is no time limit, however, skills should be met and strengthened as efficiently as possible. One's adaptability, capacity to work under pressure, ability to work with minimal supervision, analytical, and social skills are crucial in any career path. These things are taught in schools, though at a fundamental scale. Most of the time, these are enhanced and improved through effort, practice, and experience. People also learn more about how ethics, communication skills and technological savvy contribute to the success of any endeavor.

How to Use Learners’ Internal Motivation
Motivating students is always a challenge and can, in fact, be one of the most difficult parts of education. There are countless ways to either encourage or intimidate a student into completing their work or participating in class but these external motivators have a limited effect. Encouragement and praise may only motivate a student while they are seated in the classroom. A teacher expressing disappointment on an uncompleted assignment may only encourage the student to avoid the subject or course work altogether. One of the best ways I have found for motivating students is to find a student's internal motivation.

What Are The Qualities that Make ESL Teachers Good?
I would like to start by first explaining what means to teach, which by a vague definition is to cause the student to learn and acquire the knowledge that is taught in the classroom to meet all the objectives that are previously set by the institution and by the teacher. In other words, the process of teaching is formulated and organized in such a psychological and educational way for both the learner and the teacher to be able to attain some prearranged goals.

How I Changed Careers From Being a Nurse to Teaching English in China
I might not have realized it before since I was busy studying and just trying to achieve my short term goals but I believe that my mother has been an inspiration for me to become a teacher. I could remember seeing kids at home being taught by my mom and she used pictures to identify certain shapes and animals. My mom was a regular housewife then. She taught only for fun and to make my brother and I be more engaged in learning things with the company of our friends, our playmates.
