Please take that into consideration that this is a small somewhat isolated place where few people speak English and it is very windy in winter! Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit dealt with when it is appropriate and effective for the teacher or students to speak. There seems to be a constant balancing act between teacher talk time and student talk time, getting and keeping attention, showing authority while simultaneously being viewed as a peer, and which of the students to spend more time on or with. So far it seems the key to being a good teacher lies in balance. This is a good overview of various classroom management techniques. I have used many of these before. It is also very good to be reminded about the different ways of disciplining the class. These are good to remember and never forget. It is not good to become too emotional in class, even though thee are times when it is difficult for the teacher. Using group sessions and pair work was very valuable.
