Taiwan is a fast moving Asian country with many teaching possibilities for TEFL qualified teachers opening throughout the year. As a tropical island it boasts diverse landscapes and excitement for all who have the fortune to live and work there. Whether you are a newly qualified or experienced teacher Shane English School Taiwan will exceed your expectations of teaching abroad. As a well-established and respected global school, you can be reassured that we endeavour to provide quality and care for all of our students and teachers. Teachers should be able to teach a wide variety of ages and abilities both in groups and one-on-one.

Some of our schools are outside of Taipei/Taipei county (Out Region Schools) and some in the Taipei or Taipei county area (In Region Schools). Some are in big cities and some are in more rural areas.

‘In Region Schools’ in and around Taipei offer the Asian experience with the additional comfort of other foreigners and western style supermarkets, restaurants and bars. There are a lot of experienced teachers in Taipei; therefore new teachers have plenty of support both socially and academically.

‘Out Region Schools’ are spread throughout the island and generally have fewer teachers than the Taipei schools. The majority are over an hour South of Taipei by train, bus or plane. The rural locations provide excellent opportunities for teachers to immerse themselves in Taiwan’s culture and language.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Unit 2 was definitely the brain-twister chapter so far. It dissected the various parts of speech. The chapter covered nouns, adjectives, adverbs, articles, verbs, gerunds, prepositions, nouns, and conjunctions were discussed along with their different types and forms. Some highlights were made to certain exceptions as well. Many examples were given for clarification which were extremely helpful. The unit Planning a lesson is a good warm up for the future, it helps me organize my mind on how planning a lesson in both short and long term should be done. The most valuable point is to be flexible in all steps of teaching so the student can be able to absorb all the information, as well as the teacher should manage to auto-criticize her/him self to manage to develop and improve his/her methods.
