Testing is one of the few ways to concretely measure student performance, though it will place a lot of pressure on them and distract from learning useful language. Many tests lean heavily on memorization and not communicating effectively so if the opportunity to make a test arises, fashion it in a way that mimics real-life use. That way, it will be a better measurement of what the student has truly internalized. We've learned about the basic different kinds of classroom tests, as well as when and why to use them, and ways to consider them and categorize them into different kinds according to the present need at hand. We also have learned about many of the different kinds of external examinations, as well as descriptions of each of those kinds of exams and some of the basic needs and desires of the students who take them.
