Positions:
American Language Academy is a private language school centrally located in Madrid.
Full-time and part-time EFL positions are available for the upcoming academic year.
We offer General English, Business English, immersion programs, individual programs,
and test preparation.
Groups are small (2-7 students), students are mostly adults.
Classes are held at our center or on site at companies.
The weekly schedule includes a teacher development program.
We also offer free Spanish classes.
Requirements:
* Native speaker
* University degree in a relevant field
* 1+ years' teaching experience
* CELTA/TEFL certificate or equivalent
* EU passport and/or Spanish work permit

In this unit it is mentioned that picking the topic for a lesson is important. It is important that students should be interested in the lesson that is presented. In this unit I also learned about the importance of listening and reading. This unit also mentioned that teaching and learning of receptive skills presents some problems which are mainly in connection with the language contained in the text, the topic and the student's tasks.This unit is was very helpful and informative on the advantages and disadvantages with using course books, authentic materials etc. I believe it is very important to know these advantages and disadvantages so you know how to approach the students and the best way of being creative. Students always want to enjoy the lesson and in this unit it has shown many ways of being a creative teacher and how to keep the students always interested.
