Date posted:2003-12-03 | Writer: INTENSITY School of English | Email: [email protected]

The INTENSITY Callan School is looking for extraordinary candidates interested not only in teaching English in Poland for one year, but also in broadening their horizons and developing themselves. Of course teaching experience and a bachelor's degree help, as does a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate. But what's more important is that you are a confident, dynamic, sociable, creative and resourceful individual. The position starts on January 5th 2004 (with a one week training package beforehand).

The INTENSITY Callan School is part of the Callan Method Organization based in London. The Callan Method is a question & answer method based on conversation, and stimulates students to speak. After some practice, this method requires very little or even no class preparation from the teacher. It is a method designed to be taught by any teacher to any student, anywhere in the world. We teach mainly adult students who need English for their professional and personal use. The relaxed and lively classroom atmosphere that we create is highly appreciated by our students and encourages communication. At INTENSITY, we care about our staff as much as our students.

Our school is located in the city of Rybnik in the Silesia region of southern Poland. Our location provides easy access to such places as Krakow, Warsaw, the ski resort of Zakopane, Auschwitz, Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Berlin. Poland is a country of outstanding beauty, fun-loving friendly people and unique charm waiting to be discovered by you.

What we offer:

- Highly competitive rates of pay
The salary we offer is more than enough to live comfortably in Poland (where the cost of living is much cheaper than Western countries) and of course to travel as you wish and enjoy Polish shops and nightlife

- Assistance with finding accommodation
We provide full assistance in finding accommodation which suits you (single or shared flats, with or without satellite TV etc., as you prefer)

- Guaranteed minimum weekly workload
- Friendly working environment in a young, dynamic team
- Free in-house teacher training
- Help provided with visas and work permits
- Teacher support
- Holiday bonus of $300 (USD)
- Airport pick-up

So, if you think you have that something special that puts you above the rest, don't waste any time. E-mail your CV (with photo) to:

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Unit 3 covers many important areas concerning techniques. I am not coming from a teaching background so I gained a lot from this unit. Perhaps the best way to use this content would be to adapt the techniques to your audience. I feel that I have many ideas for worksheets using things like fill in the blank and word searches. I like how it deals with correction, suggesting the reader reign in some of their impulses to over correct. This unit mainly talks about classroom management that can give effective ideas to teachers on how to minimize discipline problems in a classroom, to set up a classroom properly and to provide effective learning environment. In addition, this unit also talks about different approaches to avoid students from being ineffective in the classroom. I feel there is a lot of things that I need to improve when it comes to managing the class.
