Qualifications: A Masters degree in TEFL / TESL / Linguistics with at least
3 years teaching experience, or BA in Linguistics / English with at least 5 years experience in teaching English (preferably) to science, engineering and technology students or BA with one year certificate course in TEFL / TESOL. Previous teaching experience in the Middle East desirable.
Job description:
Yanbu Industrial College is seeking well qualified EFL Teachers for the academic year 2002 - 2003. EFL Teachers who are currently available for the job will be immediately hired.
The English Language Center conducts orientation and upper level English language courses. Orientation students have had at least 3 years of high school English. Orientation courses include reading, writing, grammar, and listening components. Courses are labeled such for convenience. The program itself is holistic in pedagogical approach. Upper level courses focus on developing communicative skills and expanding student ability in various business and technical report writing classes. Teachers
are currently teaching a class load of 20 hours per week.
YIC is a two year technical college. The Departments of Chemical Engineering,
Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial
Management offer courses in various areas of specialization. English is the language of instruction. YIC is located in Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah, a beautiful town located on the Red Sea. The beaches are wonderful and the scuba diving is world class. We are only a 15-minute drive to the historic Hijaz Mountains and the Yanbu airport, which provides service to Riyadh and Jeddah, is a 30-minute drive.
Salary and benefits:
YIC offers both single and married status contracts, free furnished accommodation, free health care at government facilities, and 3 paid vacations (Ramadan Eid holidays, Haj holidays and sixty days annual vacation) per year with annual repatriation to home of record during the summer. Married status contracts also provide health care for wife and children and school fees for up to 2 children under the age of 18 years. Salaries are based on degrees and experience.
