Dunham Institute has occasional opportunities for qualified EFL teachers. We´re a small, friendly and intimate language school based in the idyllic location of Chiapa de Corzo, the oldest town in the rural state of Chiapas in Mexico. We provide affordable opportunities to the families of the local community to learn English from native level speakers, creating a comfortable, enjoyable learning environment with a small dedicated team. We also use these classes to provide hands-on authentic teaching experience for those wishing to begin a TEFL career teaching abroad.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit explained phonology as well as transcription. I have learned that transcription is very important as it shows the international recognized way to pronounce words using phonetic symbols. Stress pattern of words are equally important as they show the intention or the meaning of the expression. Stress and pronounciation could be taught by using visual, gestures,word contrast, songs etc.I have learnt about teaching different types of classes. I have learnt about interesting ideas of teaching beginners with great techniques of teaching, possible problems and good motivation. Moreover, I have learnt new points about teaching individual students; children; Business English; monolingual and multilingual class. The tips of teaching and the possible problems for each type of class.
