What differentiates Chungdahm with other English-language institutes in Korea?

CULTURE: Chungdahm has over 120 locations throughout the country. Within our vast network we are able to offer various cultural experiences unique to Korea for our teaching staff. There are yearly trips to various events throughout the year such as the Boryeong Mud Festival and Pusan Film Festival to name a few.

COMMUNITY: Nowhere will you find a better sense of community than at Chungdahm. Not only do our instructors work together, they are also involved in various extracurricular activities outside of the classroom. We offer many opportunities to get involved within the community such as after-school volunteer programs for underprivileged children and host many Chungdahm-sponsored social events including art performances, faculty-appreciation dinners, and sporting activities. Chungdahm also offers referral bonuses 250,000 KRW to current faculty for each new instructor successfully placed at any of our locations!

CONFIDENCE: Chungdahm’s students are among the 10% highest achievers in the nation. Many of our students plan on attending top-level high schools and universities in Korea and have goals to study abroad as well. This is why Chungdahm puts great emphasis on creating a unique and structured curriculum that molds our students to focus on creative thinking and critical learning. Therefore, our comprehensive training program fully prepares prospective instructors in teaching our effective methodology that has been endorsed by KATE (Korean Association of Teachers of English). Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

An effective teacher will apply the most appropriate ESA method to the class and to the language that will be introduced. The ESA method depends on whether the lesson is focused on new grammar, vocabulary or functions. Straight arrow approach will be recommended for lessons that are targeted to grammar or vocabulary, whereas boomerang or patchwork structures will be more suitable for functions based lessons. This unit covered modal verbs, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. I was already very familiar with modal verbs and passive voice but phrasal verbs were a new concept to me. I had a hard time understanding the difference between Type 1 and Type 3 phrasal verbs but I understand that they are something that needs to be taught and used naturally during classroom time so that students can get used to hearing them.
