Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit's material is a good example of why lingualism is insufficient as a stand-alone teaching method--it is imperative to become accustomed to how a language sounds in use because when in conversation one doesn't have time to sit and think about grammatical usage and tense, one must just come up with it. If one has had a lot of practice listening to the language and speaking it, one is much more likely to integrate proper tense. In this unit I became familiar with famous theorist and their point of view in regards to children learning and developing theories. After researching and reading the given references, I can say that it will really help a teacher to make lesson plans more effective. I also learned how L1 and L2 differ in terms of acquisition. I also learned what methodology is advisable for group 1 of YLs and which ESA methodology is for group 2 YLs.
