Date posted:2004-11-23 | Writer: International Education Centre | Email: [email protected]

International Education Centre is a well-established and highly-reputable school situated in Medan, North Sumatera. We are currently seeking a native English teacher to join our existing team, starting January 2005. If you are short-listed for the position you will have the opportunity to contact our current teachers, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have about living and working here.

Medan is within easy traveling distance to the Orang Utang Rehabilitation Centre in Bukit Lawang and to beautiful Lake Toba, and only an hours flight away from the tourist delights of Malaysia.

To apply for the position, you must have completed a 4 to 5 week EFL certificate course that includes teaching practice. We prefer applicants to have at least one year's experience, although we may waive this requirement for applicants who show clear promise. We offer excellent teacher support and development opportunities throughout the term of the contract, which is initially for one year, as well as help in adjusting to life in Indonesia.

If you love teaching, enjoy a challenge, are qualified to RSA CELTA standard or equivalent, preferably with some experience, have no dependents, and want to experience life in a completely different culture, then please contact us.

We offer:

A competitive salary
One year renewable contract
Visa, Work permit and Foreign Workers Tax paid by the school.
End of contract fiscal tax (due prior to departure from Indonesia), paid by the school.
A round trip economy class air ticket (50% reimbursed at the end of 6 months and the remainder at the end of the contract.)
18 days paid holiday (+ all Indonesian public holidays)
Free living accommodation in a large house (sharing with other teachers)
Medical insurance
Free Internet access
A bonus at the end of the contract

Our students are mostly children, teenagers and young adults studying General English. However, we are developing our adult and business classes, and will be looking for teachers to cover these classes in the future.

If you are interested in joining us, and can start in January 2005, please email or fax your c.v., together with a covering letter and a copy of your passport and certificates to the address below. Please include in your covering letter, brief details of your working history to date, the type of level and age groups you prefer to teach, and your reasons for wanting to come to Indonesia. We will also need to interview you by telephone. Please give a day and time convenient for this purpose.

When you employ the use of indirect speech in your writing it helps in summarize all things that the speaker says Said the use of direct speech in writing wheather fiction or non fiction can to make pace of the action move smoothly unlike direct direct speech which has the tendency of slowling down the pace of the action .another advantage of inderect speech is the absence of the fear of misquoting what someone else says.In this lesson I firstly about the four aspects of tenses. Then I moved into Present Simple tense learning the affirmative or positive form along with the Negative form and Question form. After that I learned about the Present Continuous tense and learned about the different form that it has. Next I moved into Present Perfect tense and after that the Present Perfect Continuous and I learned about the form of each of their uses.
