EFL Teachers Needed in Cirebon, Indonesia

Date posted:2011-10-17 | Writer: EF Cirebon | Email: [email protected]

EF Cirebon is a well-established language school located on Java’s sunny north coast, midway between Jakarta and Semaran. We are currently seeking 2 TEFL qualified native English speakers to join our staff on a one-year renewable contract in January 2012. In comparison to many of the larger Indonesian conurbations, there is little by way of pollution and the city has a pleasing suburban feel to it. Cirebon is an attractive and laid back place to live and is a great place for swimming (we have the free use of a swimming pool), walking in the foothills of the volcano, lazing around with a good book and relaxing. Bandung and Jakarta are both about 3 hours away

We offer a wide range of courses, including General English, Business English, courses for children, conversation, and one-to-one lessons. Our school is fully equipped with all the latest multi-media equipment including an IWB (interactive white board) and extensive supplementary material. Of course, our greatest resource is our supportive, dedicated teaching staff.

Cirebon offers all the conveniences of a city while providing an excellent jumping- off point for travel to the the beautiful and culturally diverse countryside that surrounds it.

    Qualifications
We require the candidate to be a native speaker and have a TEFL Certificate (TESOL, RSA CELTA, Trinity or equivalent). A love of teaching, enthusiasm and a good sense of humour are essential.

Due to Indonesian Immigration regulations, we can only accept a passport holder of the following nationalities:

    USA, Australia, U.K., Canada, New Zealand

    Compensation
For the successful candidate, we offer a comprehensive compensation and benefit package, including :

    * Very Competitive salary
    * Overtime Compensation
    * Visa and Work permit
    * Round Trip Airfare
    * Paid leave.
    *A free 2 bedroom house for each teacher and the free use of a swimming pool.
    * Medical insurance.
    * A renewable one year contract.

The salary is more than enough to live well in Cirebon and enjoy your holidays traveling around Indonesia.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

While learning a language you first learn how to listen, speaking follows then reading and writing. The four (listening, speaking, reading and writing) are referred to as the basic skills required in learning a language. listening and reading are referred to as receptive skills whereas speaking and writing are referred to as productive skills. A complete lesson should incorporate the four basic skills.This chapter talks about equipment and teaching aids and all of the advantages and disadvantages for each one. It gives some very helpful tips on the how to use some of them. I especially liked all of the information and ideas of how and why to use an OHP. It is also an interesting idea to use a video recorder to make it interesting for the students as well as provides a different perspective for them.
