Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This has been the most difficult of all the lessons. While I've taught lessons in the past where I emphasized correct pronunciation and used the methods presented in this lesson, I never thought it'd be important to know where in the mouth the sounds originate and how. Now I realize that this will be very important when teaching words to children who use a language that uses similar or different parts of the mouth.This unit described receptive skills in learning a language and methods to effectively teach them. The different ways people read and listen were described and potential problems were detailed. I learned how to use authentic and non-authentic listening and reading materials to improve a students language skills and confidence. I also learned the lack of capturing can make listening more challenging than reading.
