Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit focused on ways to manage the classroom including discipline, room set-up, teacher talk time versus student talk time, and the overall managing of the dynamic between the teacher and the students. In comparison to my classroom management course in college, I feel I have now solidified management from the perspective of EFL education as opposed to general management and discipline in US schools. This unit reflects how integral the teacher is in establishing a classroom conducive to student learning. Apart from the physical setup, the teacher must maintain a relaxed (to promote student participation) yet controlled (to maintain a safe learning environment) learning space to ensure all students are willing to interact with the task, the teacher and each other via pair, group and whole class work.
