English language teachers required in a medium sized Central London, Oxford Street School. Applicants should be TESOL, CELTA or TESOL qualified with Degree education. Native command of the English language required. Previous experience is an advantage but not essential. Full time, part time and freelance positions available. You may be teaching general English, conversation and pronunciation or business English. Students are lucky enough to enjoy small class sizes, the average class size is about 8 students. Compensation: Dependent on experience and qualifications.

I have learnt about different materials for teaching English in this unit and the how they can be put to use. Importantly, I have learnt the course books are very good as they simplify the work of a teacher but at the same time, they (the course book) should not be solely relied on by the teacher. A good teacher should always look for materials to expatiate the topic to be taught to the students.This unit covered, though briefly, the different parts of speech including nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and propositions. I learned that there are many distinct subsets of each of these categories. I feel more confident in my ability to recognize each specific part of speech. This unit also featured a couple very helpful recommendations about how to teach difficult concepts such as adverbs.
