Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In this unit, similar to the present tense unit, it distinguished between four past tenses: past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. This section also distinguished between regular and irregular forms of verbs, and identified ways to identify the forms of each past tense. I learned the basic forms and usage of each tense, and feel comfortable distinguishing each form, and generating examples of each. This unit focused on future tenses and its different forms. There were seven forms to be learned as opposed to the normal four and covered its usage and tips for teaching. After going through a few different tenses now, I believe I have gotten to know their structures better. It's meanings and usage is important, but I found taking the sentence apart and looking solely at the structure to be an easier way of identifying the tense.
