Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Phonemic symbols have always been a difficult part in Linguistic learning for me. Not being a native speaker, I think it would be the most difficult for me to teach people to pronounce with a certain accent students want to learn (eg British). Stress and intonation are more of a daily habit. When we teach, we will need to dig a little bit deeper so to make sure we are giving out correct explaination. This Unit explained the five forms of expressing conditional situations (Zero, first, second, third and mixed conditionals). The structure and typical usage of each conditional form was explained. Teaching examples were also displayed. The unit also covered reporting direct speech and how we go about back shifting the pronoun, tense, time and place of direct quoted speech to form the reported speech.
